Self went around her backyard today, taking pictures of her garden (in close-up), selecting subjects that matched Cee’s current Fun Foto Challenge: Vibrant Colors.

Self visited the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens (North Highway One, Fort Bragg) about a week ago.
She followed the sign marked “Ocean.”
And ended up here:

Self dropped by the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens and was reminded of the healing properties of the color green. She was there mere minutes after it opened. No one was around except for a man carrying a wooden easel. Later, she passed him on the path. He was just setting up.
By the way, the camera she uses is a Nikon Coolpix, about four years old. Got it at Costco. Good price.
Other Takes on PROLIFIC:
HAPPY EARTH DAY, ALL!
Such a gorgeous day! Sun is shining, everything’s beautiful.
Went to the Palo Alto Farmers Market. Smiles everywhere. The dimsum at this market is just heavenly:
Bought a hanging basket of pink ivy geraniums from this vendor:
You can see the basket of pink geraniums in the center of the picture below:
She hung the basket on the porch, soon as she got home.

This week’s Daily Post Photo Challenge asks us to show “what we love” about where we live. Self lives in Redwood City, California but is spending the next few months in Mendocino, as the 2018 Writer in Residence at the Mendocino Art Center.
Her unit faces a forge/woodsmithing shop, and a local high school. At the end of the day, she can walk to the street and always manage to catch a spectacular sunset.
Today, the sunset was so alluring that self got into her car and chased it down as far as the Mendocino Headlands. She kept her car headlights on while taking this shot.

It was self’s first time in the Brooklyn Museum.
The first floor had objects selected for an exhibit on the color BLUE. Which was such an interesting concept, self doesn’t think she’s ever seen color so directly addressed by any museum, anywhere (and she’s been to A LOT of museums). The objects ranged from medieval depictions of the Blessed Virgin to work by contemporary artists. That’s where she discovered the two Korean artists mentioned below.
The fifth floor was where she found the Robert Longo photograph above, Bullet Hole.
