We have had weather, here in northern California. First: two days of blustery, high wind (knocked down ALL the pots on the porch, even the huge ones with small orange and loquat trees). Then, all last night, rain.
This morning, though. This morning. Look! After that wind storm, I’m surprised there were any blossoms left on the tree.
What is this flower? It is GORGEOUS! Thought it might be a clematis, but have you ever seen an orange clematis???
Found in the garden of The Pinschower Inn in Cloverdale, California.

Self is staying at a sweet little B & B in Cloverdale, two blocks from S. Citrus Drive. The hosts have an organic garden, fruit trees, and chickens. This morning, self did a little poking around the garden and found this vivid pink flower. Is it a daisy? If it is, she’s never seen one that color before. Can anyone help to identify this?

There’s not much going on in the backyard in winter. But, to one side, there is an explosion of yellow. The euryops is a monster bush, at least seven feet high, and has so many blooms that from afar you can’t even see the leaves.

This is one of those places that never seem to change — a little oasis of peace right in the center of the city of Menlo Park, a bedroom community for Silicon Valley tycoons. Every year, the shops have seasonal “themed” parties — Fall, Christmas.
The day she took these pictures was her birthday. She was with her son and daughter-in-law and Lucia.

Today, Nov. 6, is a color: PINK BLUE.
Hmmm. That is quite a lovely color. If self can find an example in her archives. Nevertheless, she’ll give it that old college try.
