Life in Colour, May Challenge: PURPLE

Read about the Life in Colour Photo Challenge, here.

This month’s color is PURPLE.

Purple is “a secondary colour made from red and blue, though you can find many different shades of purple. Stay clear of violet though as that will be making its own appearance. Although found in nature in shades of crocuses, lilacs, and irises, look for the bruised colours in a sunrise or sunset, an indigo sea, a full moon in an inky sky.”

Here are a gallery of self’s purples:

Some may be questionably purple, lol. Nevertheless.

Stay safe, dear blog readers. Stay safe.

Thursday Trios

This challenge is hosted by Mama Cormier. Every Thursday, you post a picture of a trio.

Self knows, it is Monday today. Nevertheless.

  • Bath, England 2017
  • Self’s three contributor copies of The Cost of Paper, published by 1888 Center in Orange, CA
  • A trio of Mike Byrne ceramics, at an exhibit in Dublin Castle, May 2019
  • Alan Meredith’s ebonised wood triptych, at the same exhibit in Dublin Castle, May 2019

Searching for trios can be quite addictive!

Stay safe, dear blog readers. Stay safe.

April 14 BRIGHT SQUARES

Self hasn’t skipped a day yet in the April Bright Squares Challenge.

The host of this challenge is The life of B.

Today, self is honored to share the artwork of Dublin-based Jacinta O’Reilly, whose work is so fabulously vivid. These pictures are from Jacinta’s exhibit at Naas Library in Kildare, Ireland, October 2019.

Day 2, BRIGHT SQUARES: April Photo Challenge

Self will try to post a bright square (or two) a day through April. Thank you, The Life of B, for hosting this very interesting photo challenge!

Square # 1: Bruce Lee Postcard in son’s room

Square # 2: Variations on a Field, by Irish print artist Pam de Brie

April Squares Challenge

Here is another Photo Challenge I just found out about: The Squares Challenge, hosted by The Life of B.

The theme for the Squares Challenge this month is BRIGHT.

Self-explanatory, right?

Here are some of self’s bright squares:

  • the skylight of the apartment she rented for several weeks in Oxford, UK (November 2019)
  • a greeting card from Dublin-based visual artist Jacinta O’Reilly
  • a book from the Sherabling Monastery in Himachal Pradesh, India, which she visited in January 2012

Love this challenge!

Stay safe, dear blog readers. Stay safe.
