The Atherton Public Library received the Mother of All Glow-Ups last year. Self had grown so used to the trailer that she couldn’t believe her eyes.
Anyhoo, one day last fall, exactly one week before Halloween, self dropped by. The walk was lined with California native plants, giving off a heavenly scent. Anyone know what these are called?

Today, everything is closed (except for Patterson’s, the bar on Lansing, which is pretty lively!). Self took a walk around the village. In front of the McCallum house, there were these pretty flowers. Perfect for Cee’s Flower of the Day!
What is this flower? It is GORGEOUS! Thought it might be a clematis, but have you ever seen an orange clematis???
Found in the garden of The Pinschower Inn in Cloverdale, California.

Self is staying at a sweet little B & B in Cloverdale, two blocks from S. Citrus Drive. The hosts have an organic garden, fruit trees, and chickens. This morning, self did a little poking around the garden and found this vivid pink flower. Is it a daisy? If it is, she’s never seen one that color before. Can anyone help to identify this?

For this Flower of the Day Challenge, self decided to go back through her archives.
She took these pictures when she visited the Oxford Botanic Garden, late May.
Self’s All Dressed Up started blooming again yesterday.
It is a very, very hot day.

Her roses just don’t quit. Bougainvillea right behind, doesn’t quit either.
Finally, self has done it! After many, many failed attempts, she has succeeded in establishing a bougainvillea! The little itty bitty thing she bought from the Palo Alto Farmers Market in June has quadrupled in size and is covered with fiery orange flowers, which seem to blaze in the late afternoon sun.
