From Self’s Story “Dust” (published in The Writing Disorder)

It was a sunny, glorious day. April was sometimes cold, but Jocelyn thought she could sense summer coming, just around the corner.

Shadowed 5: Little Lake Street, Mendocino

The Photo Challenge prompt this week — SHADOWED — is forcing self to move around after dark, which is excellent. She’d never get out, otherwise. It was freezing last night, but self was nothing if not determined.

And this is what morning sunlight looks like, through the door to her unit in the Mendocino Art Center:

Shadowed 4: Night, Little Lake Street, Mendocino

Self loves what The Daily Post photo challenge prompt for this week — SHADOWED — refers to as “a beautiful moodiness.” And she absolutely loves taking night shots. So, here are three more from self’s current habitation: Mendocino, California.

Self was on her way to yoga class (offered by one of the artists-in-residence here) when she stumbled on the sunset.

Her jaw dropped. Literally dropped.

Seeing as this week’s Photo Challenge is SHADOWED, self whipped out her camera (which she takes everywhere, even to yoga class) and began snapping away like mad.

Stay tuned, dear blog readers. Stay tuned.
