Descent 2: Sunny in Venice Beach

The Daily Post Prompt:

This week, show us your interpretation of DESCENT:  experiment with your point of view and angle, or go even deeper with the theme.

For this week’s Photo Challenge, self chose a collection of photographs she took today, while walking along the Venice Beach Pier with Angela. She would never have thought of taking these particular pictures if she hadn’t been trying to interpret the week’s theme, so thank you, WordPress Daily Post!

At the end of the pier was a display table with a microscope:

At intervals along the Pier were quotes about the sea like the one below:

Every Boardwalk needs a quote from Herman Melville.

And here’s a poem by Neruda (Spanish original to follow):

English translation of Pablo Neruda’s “Estrellas”

Cuando en el cielo las estrellas
desestiman el firmamento
y se van a dormir de dia,
las estrellas de agua saludan
al cielo enterrado en el mar,
inaugurando los deberes
del nuevo cielo submarino.

— Pablo Neruda

Stay tuned, dear blog readers.  Stay tuned.
