Bear with self a moment, dear blog readers.

Right after posting a list of books she wants to read after going over the Books section of The Wall Street Journal from the Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 23 -24, 2013 edition, self lands on

Yes, self’s idea of “me time” now is to google Suzanne Collins, author of The Hunger Games.  How else would she have wound up on

The site has a Hunger Games Name Generator.  You put in your first and last name (Your real names), add your gender (Male or Female) and press “Submit.”

May the odds ever be in your favor!

The name generated for self is

The last name, Lascius, can refer to “Lash” — Lash as in Lash with a whip, like what happens to Gale in The Hunger Games:  Catching Fire.

Or it could be “Lash” as in “Eyelash,” like those ridiculous lashes of Effie Trinket.

Self decides to try the name generator with her husband’s name, and the result is

Now, with Sole Fruit of Her Loins’s name:

(If she adds son’s middle name, he gets a whole brand new name:  GRIFFIN EDENTHAW)

This is soooo much fun!

OK, again, this time with Dearest Mum’s name:

OK, with a fellow blogger’s name:

What about her best friend in college:

Now, the name of self’s Bacolod Nemesis:

Oh, jeez.  Self has to hold her sides, she is laughing so much.

Stay tuned, dear blog readers.  Stay tuned.

Kyi, It is absolutely fun. I don’t know what the formula is. Though I think my HG name (“Eunia”) is not such a cool name. I like “Otto” for my son’s!
