Infinite: WordPress Weekly Photo Challenge

This week’s WordPress Photo Challenge theme is INFINITE.

The infinite always has something to do with the sky. At least it does in self’s photographs!

Next photo:  Ah, Venice.  There is something so unnerving about being faced with open water.  Especially when, seemingly just minutes earlier, you were on the Grand Canal, with its press of palazzos and museums marching right to the very edge of the water.  There are no transitions in Venice.  Which is part of the reason the city can be so disconcerting.  Nothing can match the drama of the way the vaporettos move so suddenly from canal to wide open water.

Finally:  The southern California freeways do present one with a sense of the infinite.

Self thinks the word —  “Infinite” — is such a powerful word.  It means limitless.  It means something that is beyond imagination.

But the infinite exists.  Just because we can’t imagine it doesn’t make it any less real.

Self wants to take a step back and ponder that for a moment.

Stay tuned, dear blog readers.  Stay tuned.
