In other news, self was incredibly sad to learn (from Isagani Cruz on FB) that Marilou Diaz-Abaya, one of the Philippines’ first women movie directors, passed away today (Monday, Oct. 8), after a long bout with cancer. She, like Dear Departed Doreen Fernandez, were two of self’s first inspirations.
