Gifts, Part III

It rained.

Self browsed in the Rafael Salas collection in a room of the Negros Museum. (The Museum is on Gatuslao Street.  General Admission is 50 pesos, or approx. $US 1.14)

The Museum stays open until 8 p.m.  Self was so happy that she made the decision to visit in the evening:  with no one else around, self was free to examine the exhibits at her leisure.  Outside, it was dark and wet.  But here she was, in a cocoon of warmth and privacy.

It is an amazing, a very amazing thing, when you stay in a hotel for a month and by your very last day, the staff is just as warm and welcoming to you as they were on your first day.

L’Fisher Chalet, self loves you.

She had her last “splurge” meal at Café Uma:  Monsignor Gigi’s French Onion Soup (cheese so thick you have to cut it with a knife.  That, or risk having cheese stalactites clinging to your front teeth) and an Asian Sampler tray that had the most delicious tuna sashimi on crostini bread, and crispy wontons stuffed with, self thinks, spinach, and very delicately steamed potstickers.  It was a huge dish, but self managed to gobble up everything.

Sadly, she had to forego Scoops, next door.

So sad to leave Bacolod!

And there’s all this gulo with PAL workers going on strike, yet.

Trip home will be grueling.  At the end of almost a day of traveling, there will be:  house, Bella, hubby, October in northern California, Safeway, movies, World Series, Stanford Alumni Homecoming, magazines magazines magazines, laundry.  And piles of rejections.

Stay tuned, dear blog readers.  Stay tuned.
