Yesterday, Silay

At the Balay Negrense in Silay, Negros Occidental:

The last photograph is of an installation created by Balay Negrense Artist-in-Residence Ian D. Valladarez.

Balay Negrense is a must-see on any visit to Bacolod!  It’s on Cinco de Noviembre Street, Silay City, Negros Occidental.

Last Day in Bacolod: Food, Food, and More Food!

Kept Ida, the company secretary, busy today!

She accompanied self to Virgie’s!  Then to Bailon Fastfood!  Then to Pendy’s!  Then to Gaisano Mall!  Where the National Bookstore, self was gratified to discover, had three copies of her collection!

Here are pics of the significant stops of the day:

Ida took the picture:  wouldn’t you know, she left out the most important part, the sign that says BAILON FASTFOOD (!!@@##).  Dear blog readers will just have to take self’s word for it:  she was there.

They make the most yummy fresh lumpia, with a special white sauce mixed with plenty of garlic.  After downing two pieces, self spent the entire day with her mouth redolent of bawang.  Even though she assiduously chewed handfuls of breathmints.

At Gaisano Mall, where Ida took self to determine whether the National Bookstore there had copies of self’s The Lost Language (Gratifyingly, they had three —  but the books were shelved haphazardly, seemingly not grouped by author or by title), self saw this food place and just had to snap a picture:

Ted's La Paz Batchoy, Gaisano Mall, Bacolod City

Isn’t that a kick, dear blog readers?  There are so many varieties of self (Batchoy) everywhere self looks!

Stay tuned.
