Saw “The Other Guys” Today

Saw “The Other Guys” today, the DP (Digital Projection) version (Don’t ask self to explain the difference between “Digital Projection” and regular projection, dear blog readers.   For, alas, she has no answer)

Self has to confess that last night, she dutifully looked up this movie’s Tomato-meter rating, and it was an astonishing 80% (This evening it’s inched down ever-so-slightly, to 79%)  Self went through review after review, and had worked herself up to such a state that she knew (deep down) that she would likely be disappointed.

Which brings self to her main point:  When viewing a movie like “The Other Guys,” it is best to go in knowing as little as possible.  Alas, self cannot un-do what has been done, and she entered the movie expecting a) to be completely bowled over by Will Ferrell; and b) to be completely slayed by wrecking ball scene.  Neither of which happened.  In fact, self was kind of —  bored?  While hubby never Read the rest of this entry »
