NY Times Book Review, 6 June 2010: Because Self is So Shallow

Because self is so shallow, self only picked books she was interested in reading (and that probably 75% of her acquaintances would not be interested in reading).  Herewith, books self is interested in reading after perusing her brother-in-law’s copy of The New York Times book Review of 6 June 2010:

After reading Alida Becker’s review of a crop of new Travel Books:

1st Saturday of June 2010: “Red,” # 6 Train Downtown, A World Science Festival

  • Saw a fantastic play, “Red,” at the John Golden Theater on 45th, between Broadway and 8th (Self only had time to see one play during this visit, and she will be eternally grateful to Penny for choosing this one!)  The young man who co-stars with Alfred Molina looked like nothing, nothing, on the posters, dear blog readers. But wait till you see him in action! His name (self had never heard of him before) is Eddie Redmayne, and he is English but plays “American” very very well.
  • Self thought she had lost her Metro Card, missed two #6 trains downtown, then found her Metro Card in her purse, a couple of hours later. (!!##)
  • Bought a “seat saver,” a plastic thing you put on the seat next to you that looks like a cup of spilled coffee.  $5.  From a vendor on Prince, a block away from the “R” subway station. (Self thought she heard him say that he was only there Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays)
