Self missed out on seeing “Bruno.” (Hubby gives it “2 and a half out of four stars”)
Self tried cooking an eye of round beef roast in the crockpot (came out like mechado).
Self gave a reading (yesterday, at the Foothill Writers Conference) from a work-in-progress, and was heartened by the response.
Self’s last two workshops at the Foothill Writers Conference (on what prose writers can learn from poetry, and on revising the “voice-driven” story) were very well attended.
Self got to listen to Chris Botti at Davies.
Self got to browse in Books, Inc. on Van Ness.
One of son’s high school buddies, Alex, paid a visit and self discovered that he shares self’s liking for the writing of David Foster Wallace. Alex leaves today for Addis Ababa, where he teaches at an orphanage.
Self found an old lamp in the garage that she hadn’t seen in about 15 years, and it still worked! After dusting it off, she placed it on her writing desk, next to her iMac.
Stay tuned, dear blog readers, stay tuned.
