This has been a most eventful day, dear blog readers. Today, self did the following:
-
Determined that even just one moving violation would significantly increase her insurance rates, after which discovery she promptly paid, to Redwood City Courthouse, her “bail” of $190 for Oct. 15 moving violation, and consented to go to traffic school (likely another $200).
-
Suddenly remembered that some months earlier, in April to be exact, nice technician at Auto-Pride Quik-Lube in San Carlos had told her that she had “a torn CV boot.” Why did she only recall their conversation now, when it might have been the CV boot causing that rattling sound she heard, before she took her car to the mechanic? Self kicked herself numerous times this morning, especially when she learned repairing the “CV boot” would cost around $400.
-
Bought one new tire: BF Goodrich, 80,000 mile warranty (which means tire will most likely outlast self’s car)
-
Attended soup and pie get-together at teaching colleague’s house in Los Altos (Self arrived late, at 2:30 PM, but luckily there was still some soup left)
-
Passed by Menlo Park Library and borrowed a mystery by Ian Rankin, one of his Inspector Rebus series.
