Other happenings: Last weekend, Andy Roddick and Roger Federer went mano a mano at Wimbledon. Who among dear blog readers saw that game? Self fully expected Federer to win. She caught only the fifth set. The score was a ridiculous and sick 10-10. Even though self knew Federer was going to win, she couldn’t help wishing Roddick on, urging him (silently): Come on, come on! Because, in truth, self wanted to write the Roddick story: a story of triumph over mental vacillation, over a soul-destroying career slump.

But, well, the champion won again. Curiously, it wasn’t Federer’s record-setting win that stayed in self’s memory, all through the next two days (yes, even while beagle Gracie was suffering in emergency rooms) but the heroic effort by Roddick.

Stay tuned, dear blog readers, stay tuned.

Loved Roddick. So heartbroken he lost. Federer is a tennis God but he is like a cyborg. He didn’t even sweat. That match wiped me out.
Natalie adored Twlight. Her room is completely filled with Robert posters. I agree that his hair is so silly.
So glad your darling dog is better. Can’t believe the expense@
Middlesex as a series. Very interesting. Jeffrey is going to the bank on this one!

I know; the match was sick. I, too, began to cheer for Roddick, towards the end, when I saw how hard he fought.

I liked “Twilight.” The movie was very deft, the director managed to keep an ironic tone throughout.

Yeah, Gracie has risen from the dead. Every time we took her to the emergency room (Monday and Tuesday night), we had to write a check of at least $200 for the deposit. When we picked her up, we’d end up paying a balance of 700-plus. So, two nights in the emergency room was $1,400. I don’t know if we’ll ever have another pet!
